Nichols is AASEA Administrator of the Year
Nedra Nichols, special education supervisor at the Northeast Arkansas Education Service Center, is the Beverly Benham Award winner for 2009. The award is given annually by the Arkansas Association of Special Education Administrators (AASEA) in recognition of outstanding leadership in special education. Nichols is a past president of AASEA.
Nichols’ outstanding leadership is exemplified by her efforts to improve the delivery of education to students with special needs. Her service to the field is noteworthy. She has worked with school districts across the state and has gained the respect and trust of teachers and administrators.
As described by others, Nichols is well versed in special education law and is fair and professional. She is also deeply committed to her profession and puts students first.
