AASBO provides a group mentoring setting both in person and via Zoom. If you prefer in-person experience, you may attend the AAEA offices in Little Rock or one of several satellite locations at participating Education Service Cooperatives.
The mentoring group meets monthly, September-May, on the third Wednesday of each month at 9:00 am. We use a google document that allows you to post questions for discussion. This document is used for the full fiscal year so that you may refer to it if needed. Lunch is provided at all in-person locations.
The mentoring program is designed to provide guidance and peer support to those in school finance roles. Participants can exchange best practices, share experiences, and learn from one another.
This program is ideal for finance officers, budget managers, and other professionals involved in the financial operations of school districts, ranging from those with early experience to those in more senior roles seeking to enhance their strategic capabilities.
Through this group mentoring experience, finance officers will gain the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to improve their district's financial management practices and contribute to the long-term success of their schools.
The mentoring program is provided at no cost to participants, and you are not required to be a member to join.
