Secretary Key states that DESE will request a federal waiver to cancel ACT Aspire testing this spring.

Additional COVID-19 updates: Two additional counties with cases - Benton and Greene, 8 of the 96 cases are children, and three long-term care facilities with cases.

With schools dismissed through April 17, DESE is expanding the use of AMI days during this additional 3-week period, which will begin after Spring Break next week. The 10-day limit on AMI days is waived, with DESE automatically approving the additional 15 days for each district.

Secretary Key announces that DESE is looking at all options in regards to state testing, is currently involved in discussions with the USDOE, and an decision regarding testing in AR schools will come in the near future.
